The Company

Metamedia is a tight-knit band of software developers who create process-centered web applications for a group of great clients in the Knoxville area.

Metamedia was originally born to fill some unique needs expressed by a client of HappyMac, Metamedia’s sister company. Metamedia’s genesis happened the same way we approach each client’s projects. We worked closely with the client to gain a deep understanding of his business, and then we recommended and built an evolving system to support it as it grew and changed.

This is how Metamedia works to this day. We figure out what type of solution is needed to support and optimize an existing or planned business process, then we build it, enhance it and refine it using our agile, iterative method.

Metamedia’s versatile and creative staff boasts a wide range of talents in a small team – including top-flight business analysis, user experience design, graphic arts and IT architecture skills. Metamedia also enjoys a fruitful synergy with HappyMac, which provides server, network and hardware support.

Together HappyMac and Metamedia have been providing effective and affordable IT solutions to small and medium sized businesses in East Tennessee for more than 20 years.

The Team

Christopher Gray

Christopher has been designing products and their user interfaces for over 15 years. His extensive print, stage, fine arts and interactive design experience is tempered by his technical background as a Macintosh system administrator. He is an uncommon balance between art and science, soft and hard skills: a geek artist. A user of graphical interfaces since 1984, he brings common sense and logical intensity to break complex systems into understandable contexts. Chris has extensive experience developing embedded and consumer applications.

Paul Mozingo

Paul’s wide-ranging career has included just about every discipline in enterprise-level software development, including graphic arts, business analysis, UI design, programming, technical architecture and project management. He has worked in Fortune 100 consulting services, internal corporate product management and small-scale interactive development. A man for any project, he has built enterprise portals for national banks as well as small e-commerce sites for specialty retailers. This breadth of experience allows him to talk shop with people about their visions and still work through all the details involved in making them a reality.
